Welcome Summer!  I just love this time of year.  I like Spring when the buds are coming out and flowers starting to bloom, but I'm a summer type of person.  I love the beach and the river.  I was traveling this past weekend to West Virginia and I was overtaken with awe and amazement at the pure beauty of the mountains!  Everything is green and full and the mountains seemed to rise and fall in unison so beautifully.  I'm sure I've noticed before, but I actually got tears in my eyes and thanked God for such beauty!  I do encourage each of you to "take time to smell the roses" and enjoy our beautiful earth that God has given us.

I want to thank our seniors Mersaydes Vaughan and Elizabeth Englert for coming to the Graduation Sunday service and picnic.  Congratulations again go out to you and all of our college grads as well.  Again, best of luck to you and don't forget us . . . we won't forget you.  Our end-of-the-year pool party was a blast, too!  Thanks again to the Webners for being such great hosts and to Wolfgang for the wonderful food he prepared.  And, parents, thank you for sharing your children/youth with me.  I enjoyed myself and just love being a "kid" myself.

I'll be sending a sign up sheet around the church for our congregation to sign up for the youth to help them with everyday/special chores.  If you need (or know of someone who needs) a room cleaned out, painting, small repair, weeding, mowing, raking, etc., please sign up so that we can help you.  Be sure to include a phone number or e-mail so that I can get in touch with you.  This is going to be our mission project for the summer.

I also need for each of the youth to send me a day you are available so that I can pick a date and a place for our July field trip.  I'm thinking Busch Gardens or Water Country or a local laser tag/putt putt/go-cart park.  There is also a possibility of going to the river for a float/fishing trip.  But, I have to hear from you so that I can schedule a day that most or all of you can go.  If I have enough notice, I can take a day off and we can go during the week instead of the weekend so please, e-mail or call me.

Ok - you have your assignment.  I also want you to look around and enjoy your summer.  Go slow and take it all in and don't forget to Thank God for everything.  See you soon.
