Missions & Disaster Coordination Emergency Relief Training

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the Backpack Program. This program wouldn’t be possible without your support. Please continue to give. What items are really needed at this time are Fruit cocktail cups, chef Boyardee meat, mac and cheese cups, poptarts, and nutragrain type bars.

Let’s remember to give to the Our Daily Food Pantry.   Every Sunday, printed in the bulletin there is a list of items that are needed for the week.

On Tuesday, February 7, 2012, our church members will be participating in the Downtown Churches United Feeding Ministry. We will be serving bean soup and corn muffins. I am preparing for 150 people. If you would like to prepare food and/or serve please sign up in the white sign up book or give me a call. We need eight people to serve. Thanks in advance for continuing to support this wonderful and much needed project.

There will be a Missions meeting sometime this month. The time and date are TBA. If you would like to come please bring your thoughts and suggestions for projects.

 Emergency Response Training ("ERT")
CONGRATULATIONS TO BOB & HELEN & SPENSER WHO ARE ALL ERT TRAINED!
Anyone else who would like to be part of an Early Response Team, these people go in long before other people who go in the "recovery stage" when the "TV Reporters" have long gone can only get there if you have done the ERT Course and have been "Badge" by UMCOR can go once invited. Please remember what happened earlier in 2011, long before the Official start of the Hurricane season!

I would like to see thirty (30) of our congregation alone who are ERT Trained. I need more people to put their names to the book and if you can't make the 21st then I will try and slot you on another course.
